Police Station Matters

We represent clients 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and our team of experienced lawyers are always available to give excellent and instant advice to those that have been arrested. We are fully confident that we can advance your rights. Our lawyers have extensive experience of advising suspects in all offences ranging from murder and terrorism to matters concerning road traffic, so you can be sure that your legal position will be well protected.

It is our aim to attend those held in police custody free of charge and respond to telephone requests within 15 minutes of notification. Please call our office if you need to contact us urgently - we will make sure you are advised by an experienced lawyer immediately. Remember that all accused persons have the right to get legal advice from an independent solicitor.

Magistrates and Youth Court Matters

Jefferies frequently represent clients before the magistrates courts. Our clients can be sure they will receive the best representation possible due to our excellent ability in both advocacy and the law, backed by a team of experienced solicitors.

We will always ensure that clients are provided with our best resources available. Whether it concerns applying to the court for bail, presenting your mitigation or representing you at trial, your case will be handled professionally. We are able to deal with all cases and advise the client on choosing the most appropriate form of funding. It is not uncommon for our solicitors to accept regular instructions from other lawyers for agencies.

Crown Court Matters

Our team of lawyers will ensure that you are thoroughly prepared for your case and that you are represented by an experienced advocate, if you have to face more serious matters in the crown court. No matter what the circumstances, we will make sure your case is clearly presented in a favourable way and advise you on your legal position.

Appeal Work

We take pride in our legal expertise and we are regularly asked to review cases for to establish a view as to whether there are any grounds for an appeal. If you have grounds for an appeal, you can be certain we will find them. Even if another firm has represented you in your original case, we will use our extensive experience to analyse your legal position.

Prison Law

We advise prisoners of their rights and entitlements whilst detained at H.M. Prison Service and specialise in representing prisoners who face disciplinary proceedings and face the prospect of having to serve additional days as punishment. Please see our Prison Leaflet for further details.

Motoring Law

We are specialists in motoring law and regularly represent clients summonsed or charged for both minor and more serious road traffic offences.

Depending on the seriousness of the matter you face, you may be eligible for a Representation Order where we can represent you free of charge. Please telephone or email us to enquire.

If you are not eligible for a Representation Order we can represent you on a Private Paying basis.

We offer the following services to our clients:

1. Fixed Fee telephone advice.
2. Fixed Fee Interview - where we will advise you on any motoring matter short of representation.
3. Wherever possible a fixed fee on a contested matter (Not Guilty plea) but this very much depends on the complexity of the case, the number of witnesses to be called and the use of expert witnesses.
4. Fixed Fee for most Exceptional Hardship Arguments - Where you have or are likely to acquire 12 penalty points or more on your driving licence and face mandatory disqualification under the points system.
5. Fixed Fee for most Special Reason Hearings - Where in certain circumstances you may have to plead guilty but an offence is not entirely your fault and the court can be asked not to endorse your licence or disqualify you from driving.
